Your expertise, especially in the early stages, made a phenomenal difference to Dad's ability to communicate and, therefore, to his wellbeing. It undoubtedly contributed to him getting so much more out of life for so much longer.

I am most impressed by the website, which suggests that you have gone from strength to strength. I am glad that others will benefit from your skills as I remain an absolute believer in the valuable work you do.

Good Luck

Thanks for your email.

Yes, we have had our decision [from the Tribunal], and we did really really well. We are delighted.

Thanks again for all your help and support.

How can we ever thank you enough for all the professional advice, help and support you have given to J and us.

We first came to see you two years ago, upon the advice of our excellent solicitor, Mrs. Melinda Nettleton of SEN Legal, who recommended you to us.

We have never looked back.

When we walked into Wordswell for J's assessment we were facing huge problems - it had never been explained to us or J exactly what his difficulties and needs were, the LEA could not or would not see a way forward for J and would not provide any extra SALT or OT provision for him. It was like we were banging our heads against a brick wall. We knew that our 9 year old son was in desperate need of help but didn't know what to do for him or how to help him.

Your professional, clear and detailed assessment of J changed everything. It was like a beacon of light giving us clear unbiased answers to all of our questions and giving J so much more, the possibility of a secure and independent future.
For the first time we understood clearly what J's needs were and that he was of average ability.  If J was placed in the right Specialist setting and provided with daily support and provision he could make progress.

You were also able to provide J with vital weekly SALT sessions with Christine one of your excellent therapists, as by this stage all SALT had been withdrawn from J within his Mainstream setting because we had Appealed to SENDST.

Indeed your assessment was so clear and well presented that upon its disclosure, together with the EP and OT assessments we had also obtained,  the  LEA who had been previously vigorously defending our Appeal decided not to contest the Appeal and awarded J the protection of an amended statement  providing him with all of the support and provision  we were requesting and a placement at one of the country’s leading Specialist Schools for children with Speech and Language disorders-  Moor House School, Oxted.

J has now been at Moor House School for one year, and what a difference a year can make.

J is now a happy and confident child, who is starting to talk clearly and achieve the potential that he clearly has.

At the end of Year 6 J has achieved a Level 4 in his Science Stat, not bad for a child who was being graded on P scales in his local Mainstream Primary.

J still has a long way to travel but he now has the full support he needs to achieve his true potential.

Thank you for all your help and support over the past 8 years.  I'm sure Jack will miss coming to see you but it feels like the right time to stop for now.  We wish you and your family lots of luck and happiness in the future.

I know how busy you must be...we will send you a copy of the Tribunal result this weekend. In short, they have given Tom a full-time LSA, Speech and Language Therapy, an OT programme on a daily basis (devised by an OT) and an OT to visit him once per term.  We are obviously delighted and can't thank you enough for all of your hard work.

Your kindness and thoughtfullness toward us has been beyond measure...

Many thanks for the comprehensive report you provided. It has some excellent suggestions for Jenny’s support.

We are delighted and can't thank you enough for all of your hard work.

A quick note to say thank you so very much for representing us at Tribunal. We would have been lost without you and Mike!!! True lifesavers!!  At least we know that we have given Tom the best possible chance, whatever the result. I do hope it goes in our favour.

Everyone I had contact with at Wordswell was very friendly and helpful...

What's good about Wordswell? Your very personal service, and Janet's acceptance & professionalism - as well as humanity!

Thought I would get in touch to see how you were doing and to give you an update on Stephen. Since your involvement he has just gone from strength to strength.

We have appreciated many aspects of your service.  We have found the service most responsive to specific, and potentially sensitive  issues. I have welcomed the way in which you have arranged a comprehensive package of support.

Yesterday Joe took up residence in a 52 week school through tripartite funding initiated by Social Services. The LEA have insisted that they will follow and amend the Statement in view of this. This will render the adjourned Tribunal hearing unneccessary.

It was particularly difficult towards the end with the social services placement [it certainly opened SS eyes].

Thank you for your professional input into our fight against the authorities, it was a fight that we new we had to win as a successful placement would determine Joe's quality of life.

The improvement in my father is quite astounding. Janet cares. She is always prepared to give time to the whole family. A thoroughly professional approach.

He so looked forward to the sessions with you, not just to complete exercises but to spend time with someone who had time to listen and talk to him. You did that with such patience, charm and cheerfulness.

Since my sessions with you, I’ve found things to be just as you predicted.  My day-to-day interactions are incomparably easier and less stressful.  I’ve felt liberated by the changes and have been transformed from a rather shy, unconfident person into a ‘bit of a chatterbox’.  The benefits have come from not only the changes in my speech but also from ‘not having to worry’ about being understood.  I can recommend the sessions to anyone with similar problems … deciding to undertake a course of sessions with you was the best decision that I’ve made, for myself, in my life.

Your assessment and report … helped secure my son a funded place at XXX (specialist independent school for pupils with langage difficulties and dyslexia).  For this I am very grateful.  Now, over a year on I would like to share with you the success our son has had in his first year… he is starting to achieve what he is capable of after being given all the right support.  I am very proud of the way he is continuing to progress and I feel sure that this will continue throughout his school career and into adulthood.

We are excited to tell you that the LEA has been ordered by SENDIST to make and maintain a statement for our son. How wonderful is that? His future looks so much brighter now and we are so pleased for him. Thank you so much for all your assistance in our case and for producing such brilliant reports.   Your evidence at Tribunal was also presented in such a professional way, this helped the Panel to reach its decision I am sure.

Our daughters have won their appeal with a specialist independent school for deaf children being named in their statements in part 4.  To all of you who with your excellent support helped bring about this inspired result, we thank you wholeheartedly.  I am sure you can imagine how much this means to us.  With our very best wishes and enormous thanks.

You may remember preparing a report for our son Finn's SENDIST in 2004.  Finn leaves school this summer and we've been incredibly lucky to secure a place for him at the post-nineteen provision opened in conjunction with the school last November.

It's a lovely place and will ensure complete continuity for Finn, giving him, we feel, the best possible chance of a purposeful, interesting life.  We'd very much like to send the report you prepared in 2004, which is still a good picture of Finn, to the administrator in charge of post 16 funding in the hope of getting him to understand Finn and his needs a little better.

We just opened the letter and managed to find our way to the actual result which specified X College for Stephen.  We are so pleased, I want to thank you so much for your support. Now he's dragging me down town because he needs all new stuff to start there!

I wanted to let you know that R has now finished his first term. It has been a huge success. He settled quickly, learning support was in place within about 3 weeks, he has new glasses with tints. He copes well with the journey, still taking a nap but managing. It is a long day but he is fully occupied and his mind is busy all the time so he loves it. He is happy so we are too!

Thank you again for your support in all of this.

Best wishes to you all

We have every confidence in you, and Wordswell.  You are an excellent, level headed, experienced speech therapist.  We are completely behind you.

On balance, we were persuaded by Mrs O’Keefe’s view that X does need direct therapy in order to develop her communication skills.  We have adopted the level of therapy receommended by Mrs O’Keefe.

Thank you very much for getting this revised report back to me so quickly

“We won our tribunal. Thank you for your report, which was instrumental in gaining this decision”

Dear Janet, We went to SENDIST in August to fight to get a placement in a special Asperger's school.  We won our case, he started School on Monday this week and he loves it!

Thank you very much for your input into our case.  Your report was excellent, and I have no hesitation in recommending you to other parents.
